Recently, Al Gore, who "WAS the Next President of the United States" along with the UN, received the Nobel Peace prize for amplifying Global Awareness to Global Warming.
Mr Gore also made a 94 minute film about his worldwide lecture to this end.
It is called "Inconvenient Truth" and he presents with almost callous aplomb the case Against the World not responding to Global Warming, and why. He also offers a solution. Towards, the end of the video, this image is shown on the giant screen.
The salient point to the image is just to the right of the arrow, so small you may miss it otherwise.

If it has been said that a picture paints a thousand words, then this one dramatically paints how small we all are in the cosmic scheme of things. All the calamities, triumphs, injustices and achievements of mankind, all the places you have ever been to, and all the people you have ever known, are contained in that little dot.

Although I have not seen the video, I would like to. Perhaps it will go to DVD, with some of the profits going to the subject of Global Warming and Global Awareness. I too encourage anyone who has seen it to please comment. I would love to hear others' opinions before I see it for myself.
Why doesn’t Gore to get to the real heart of environmental destruction; it certainly isn’t me leaving my lights on, leaving the tap running too long while brushing my teeth, not recycling my milk cartons or driving to shops too often.
Why is America and the world still so dependent on oil, mining, short lived consumable products and highly processed foods? Because there is a lot of money and power saying that we should remain so.
Cars should be run on a clean abundant fuel, power stations should also be clean, I shouldn’t have to replace my razor blade so often and we shouldn’t accept a pop drink that takes eight times the volume of water to make.
If only people weren’t so fashionable and accept these living conditions.
Mostly people live like animals, grazing on this sphere we live on, without questioning their existence or surroundings.
I do give Gore some credit, he is doing a more noble thing than most, but with his position and influence he could be doing a lot more. And certainly he doesn’t lose with his efforts; an oscar, money, noble peace prize and social prestige certainly sweeten the deal.
Perhaps the popularity of this film will help him to get voted when he runs as a candidate again; he really is smart.
