What is Justice anyway?
Brutus, OJ Simpson, Ted Bundy, Charles Manson (Marilyn, watch your back!), Mickey Jackson?
All are now notorious (Hitch, watch out!)
So Mr Michael Jackson was acquitted on "criminal" grounds.
This post is entirely an opinion, but what the hell , who cares about opinion anyway?
My point being, who in their right mind would have said that Mr Jackson would have been found guilty? Who in their right mind would allow their child to sleep with an unknown adult?
Not one.
He has money.
He has powerful lawyers
Since the "courtroom" verdict, he has already said that he will be "careful about who he invites to bed in future, to avoid this sort of thing again" (paraphrase).
If this is not an admission of guilt, then what is?
Parents, beware! Do not let your kids sleep over in a powerful man's house! He may pay you an enormous amount of money to deny it!
You may dance fine, but only on stage, Michael!

i do not believe that that is an admission of guilt. it is well-known and freely admitted that Mr Jackson has had kids in his bed. the controversy lies in whether it was innocent as in when a child crawls into bed with his mom or dad, or if it was twisted and sexual.
i had kind of leant towards the latter, but i was not in the jury, so i did not get to see everything like they did. i guess i will have to trust in their judgment, since they got to see all the real (or fake, as the case might be) evidence, and not just rumors and ratings-grabbing media headlines.
do they videotape the whole trial as seen by the jury? do they release that footage after the trial is over? that'd be cool i think. it doesn't seem like what the jury says really changes anyone's opinion; the trust in the system is just not there. i think releasing full courtroom footage might help reduce cynicism towards the system.
Thanks for your comments.
I appreciate them all, especially from you two guys.
However, my post was not serious!
They rarely are!
But Lawny, you made a pertinent point in that the parents are as much to blame, and even that they should be on trial too.
I remain neutral in any case.
I DID say categorically, that the post was an opinion, and as such is not my normal style.
:) i think we realize that your post was not so serious, and for that matter, same goes for some previous posts where you might have felt we didn't actually really understand what you were trying to get at. i think if we were actually just sitting around a table discussing these things, the addition tonal cues and inflections in our voices would make it clear that we do for the most part see what everyone is trying to say.
that said, just because we might take the discussion in a different direction than in which you started doesn't mean we misunderstood you intially.
and secondly, of course my comments are always going to be more serious than yours! i do not have the intelligence nor the knowledge to be as witty as you are with your puns and double or triple entendres. :P
but i too agree about the parents being partially at fault. but if Michael is innocent, then officially, there is nothing to be at fault or prosecuted for. maybe the parents should almost be thankful. although as lawnmower_man mentions, even if those parents are not exposed to the world as the child pimps they are, i suspect the reason MJ was aquitted was because they were exposed to the courtroom as such, killing their credibility.
Thanks, Lance. With that single comment alone you have made my entire blog worthwhile!
And me very happy!
How's Guinevere these days? Did she ever meet Rick Wakeman?
i would not know how Guinevere is doing. in this universe, she and i were stronger than to dishonor the beloved King Arthur, so i have decided to forget all that and focus all my energies on more knightly pursuits. i am not in jolly old England to watch over her, anyway. those tales where Lancelot and Guinevere get together for periodic moments of happiness must be reverberations from one of those quantum physics parallel universes.
had to google "Rick Wakeman". perhaps he has met her, to be inspired so, but i would not know. maybe he was hired by Arthur as official PR knight for his regime? to produce the Royal Album? wow, such propagnada genius. i wonder if the knights went on tour.. maybe they danced around a round table.. hmpf! i was not invited.
